Highlights

Showreel

  1. Falkoner Salen spot: a woman with long curly hair cheers at a concert while a yellow timeline ticks through the 60s and 70s acts that played the hall.

Three decades of concerts, and the musicians nobody remembers.

Falkoner Salen · Store oplevelser siden 1958
  2. FitnessX ad: a man eats popcorn on the sofa under bold white type about binges over lunges, then "Det er OK" lands in yellow handwriting.

A gym campaign that says it's OK to skip the gym.

    FitnessX · Det er OK
  3. YouSee roaming ad: a woman reads on sun-warmed rocks by dark green water as "Glæd dig til rejsen" fades in beside the YouSee logo.

Roaming in 100+ countries, sold in twelve quiet seconds.

YouSee · Glæd dig til rejsen
  4. Burger King creator video: a woman in a parked car reveals a hidden bag and bites into a crispy chicken burger as orange type pops in around her.

Creator content, cut for the feed it lives in.

Burger King · Crispy chicken, creator cut
  5. Apopro Black Week ad: the offer card with Duolac packs, "Spar 30% på tusindvis af favoritter" and a Black Week badge.

    Seven spots from one system.

  6. That's five.

The rest are in the feed, with the case studies in the comments.

The five clients' logos line up in white over a hairline, and the number of posts in the feed types on.

How I work

  1. Motion from the first sketch.

Where the eye goes next is part of the idea from the first thumbnail.

A rough thumbnail draws itself in pencil lines; its sketched arrow becomes a clean motion path and a card rides it into place as the sketch fades.

  2. Design the system, not the ad.

One master that bends, instead of forty files that drift apart.

A 9:16 ad with a headline, a product, a price tag and a logo reflows into 1:1, 16:9 and 4:1, every layer finding its new place.

  3. Code in the loop.

When After Effects runs out, I write the tool.

A line of code types on, rotation equals time times 90, and a square starts turning at exactly that rate; a wiggle line follows and it starts to shake.

  4. Small previews, early.

Rough motion in front of people on day one. No big reveal at the end.

A playhead runs along a timeline; notes drop onto it and each turns into a tick as the playhead passes.

  5. Got a brief?

Send it over. The DM lands in my inbox and I answer within a day.

The story's four ideas stack up as one short list.

Versioning

  1. 1,500+ videos a month.

Localized campaigns for markets across Europe, at XO 360° Graphics.

A counter rolls up to 1,500+ while a wall of small cards fills in behind it, faster and faster.

  2. One master in, every market out.

The program I built does the repetition. Designers design.

One master card in the centre; hairlines draw out to a ring of market codes, a small copy of the card appearing at each.

  3. The craft is in the template.

It knows what may change and what must not.

One template with three callouts: its safe area draws in, its headline grows a second line without breaking, and the price slides clear of the product.

  4. Vertical Apopro Black Week ad: the offer card with Duolac packs, "Spar 30% på tusindvis af favoritter" and a Black Week badge.

Same thinking, smaller job: Apopro's Black Week, seven spots from one system.

    o2matic.com

Medtech, from scratch: design, code, motion, on a Sanity CMS.

A browser window builds in, o2matic.com types into its address bar and the site's page rises in.

  2. Heliac's desktop website: "Driving the future of renewable energy through thermal batteries" over a Danish coastline.

Path

  1. UC Syd, 2018.

Where it started. Grøn Omstilling: my first time using Illustrator as an art form.

A timeline draws in from 2018; the education clip grows across 2018 to 2021 and the Illustrator mark appears.

    Grøn Omstilling · explainer
  2. Fireball, 2020.

An agency, where motion started moving into code.

The playhead moves on; the Fireball clip grows from late 2020 into 2021 and the After Effects and HTML5 marks appear.

  3. Aengul, 2021–2023.

My own studio: TV motion, an esports brand, island.is.

Three freelance clips stack on the timeline: SeLigeMig, Esport and Juni, with the island.is logo.

  4. XO 360° Graphics, 2023–now.

1,500+ videos a month, and the program that makes them.

The long XO clip runs out to now and the playhead lands on it, with the XO logo.

  5. The whole edit is on the CV.

Every role, what shipped, and the work it made.

The whole career timeline grows in at once and the playhead settles on now.

Off hours

  1. Nicolai, curly-haired in a navy T-shirt, kisses the head of Frida, a long-haired black and tan dachshund, held close on a sunny bench.

    Frida.

Dachshund, head of office morale. Her review of every render: a long sigh, then a nap.

The photo slowly settles out from Frida's face while corner marks find her like a viewfinder.

  2. Aerial shot drifting over a dark pine forest wrapped in mist.

    Forever DM.

I run Dungeons & Dragons for my group and have never once been a player.

Over a misty forest, a twenty-sided die tumbles in, bounces twice and lands on 20 as a soft glow blooms behind it.

  3. A cup of coffee on a saucer of coffee beans, seen from above.

    Coffee.

Black, and more than one. If you're in Copenhagen, let's grab one.

A cup of coffee on a saucer of coffee beans, seen from above, as the camera slowly pushes in.
